Public Screening | events | October 2007-July 2008 | Shapira Neighborhood
Video Art screenings in empty lots around the neighborhood of Shapira,
Open to the public, a D.I.Y initiative.
Screening of video art in a public place brings a random encounter with viewers.
We seeked to examine the video works in a public context, also in the eyes of those who have their first experience with video art. This direct encounter between the art work and public is an alternative to the market and the art establishment
Among the participants: Uri Levinson, Sharon Paz, Michal Schreiber, Noa Sadka, Dafna Shalom, Nurit Sharett, Alma Sneor, Osnat Rabinovich, Arkadius Tumalka, Honi Ha’me’agel, Maya Zack. Hadas Reshef, Noa Nahari.
The Project was in collaboration with the artist Eili Levy and with the help of residents.
Some come specifically to the event and some stopping spontaneously as they walk by.
This heterogeneous group of people allows different readings of the works.
